Founded in 1979 by Franklin S. McCullough and Alan R. Jones, Stor-n-Lock entered the self storage industry in its infancy. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where it developed its first location, fifteen additional storage centers were developed in Utah, Idaho, and Colorado, making Stor-n-Lock the largest privately owned storage chain in the Intermountain area. With its expansion into California, Stor-n-Lock now owns and operates close to 1,000,000 square feet of storage space, enclosing nearly 10,000 storage rooms.

Each storage center is designed with the needs of its customers in mind, including: resident manager teams, masonry exteriors, wide drive aisles, automated security features, easy access from main thoroughfares, bright lights, and daily lock checks. The home office lends extensive support to each of its stores to insure quality customer service, professionally trained on-site management, accurate accounting and strong management systems.
